PROGRESS

I thought I should update my blog as its some time since I have had chance. I think over the past month or two I have been busier than I have ever been. The year assignment project is nearing completion and I've been rushing around like a headless chicken trying to get things to a point of perfection. The thing is, I have realised a video production involving so much narrative and "storying" (if thats a word) such as ours will never live up to my expectations mainly due to a couple of obvious reasons; 1. My aspirations and expectations are far higher than my capabilities (YET) in this field 2. I have realised my usual career format of delegating certain roles to certain people cant possibly work in an educational group task, largely due to the fact that we are all untrained and therefore still learning. So everybody has to get more involved with all roles whereas in the professional world delegates are expected to be already trained and can be left to produce on their own.
In some ways I feel I have spread myself a bit too thin, trying to do too many important areas of the project in the hope of achieving the unachievable. However and this is my conclusion, what I have achieved is a fairly comfortable platform from which I can continue further study. In other words all the time spent labouring over new software such as Premier Pro, and sleepless nights with ideas running through my head have given me new skills with which I can progress on to the next stage of this frustrating, yet incredibly interesting course.
Ciao for Now

How are things going now Darren? Are you nearly done? I understand exactly what you mean about delegating tasks and noone really having strong skills just yet. Maybe if the project had been later in the year when we had all improved it would have had the outcome you imagined! I am pleased with the final outcome of ours and realised last week it was as near to perfect as we could get it with the skills we had! Anyway, just wanted to say hope yours goes well!
